"Wake" ("Vaka") is one of those Scandinavian series you hope will go somewhere interesting but doesn't.

People get red rings around the Isis and cannot sleep, leading to an often dramatic and horrible death.

It sounds interesting enough, but a constant shifting in the roles of key figures, a lack of general direction and more than a little woke posturing rob it of its potential. I managed about 60-70% of the series before calling it quits.
Upsides include an intriguing premise, strong acting and some dramatic scenes as the virus takes hold in earnest.
In summary, a disappointing series that needed to do more to be truly engaging. A moderate watch at best.
